A quick story on NPR today about homebirth, among other things, in the Netherlands. The story was called Netherlands Health Care Reflects National Values.
The statistics really surprised me! Especially with regards to the number of epidurals administered and their significantly lower infant mortality rate…

Twice in one day!
Here is a VERY interesting op-ed in last Sunday’s LA Times, “Big Medicine’s Blowback on Home Births.”
Jason and I have been considering our many, many options around here for birthing. And we are definitely leaning towards a home birth. This article is a concise explanation for why we keep coming back to this. More on this topic to come, for sure!
